Suggested Itinerary

Day 1/6 Day 01: Airport – Chilaw – Anuradhapura

Arrive by (flt no) at (00hrs). Please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. The Green Holiday Centre Representative will page you by your name. Thereafter you will be assisted to the Car park / Coach Park to begin you journey as per the booked itinerary with the Guide. On the way Visit Munneshwaram and Manavari temple. Transferred to Anuradapura, check-in at hotel Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel at Anuradhapura.

Day 2/6 Day 02: Anuradhapura - Trincomalee – Kandy

After breakfast travel to Trincomalee ,visit Koeshwaram TempleKoneswaram temple:Thirukoneswaram is a Hindu temple which is located in the town Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. It isdedicated to main deity in Shaivism namely Lord Siva andis one of the five ancient Sivan temples around the island.The Koneswaram temple is believed to have been amajor religious shrine since before the arrival of PrinceVijaya 2500 years ago. Many inscriptions found in thesurrounding area speak of Indian Pallava, Chola and even Pandya kings making contributions to the up keep of the temple indicating an origin in antiquity. Local legend has itthat it was renovated by a Tamil Chola king from SouthIndia named Kulakottan. This temple is one of the four important Saivite temple connected to the revival of Hinduism in Sri Lanka.Afterwards proceed to Kandy. En-route visit a Spice Garden at Mawanella and see the luscious Cinnamons, Cardamons, Pepper plants etc. You can also purchase your requirements of spices. Afternoon city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Kandy - the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere. Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession. Dinner & overnight stay at Kandy hotel.

Day 3/6 Day 03: Kandy – Ramboda – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast proceed to Ramboda.Visit Hanuman Temple.Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, According to the ancient stories, Ramboda is a area, where the forces of Rama's gather to fight against King Ravana. This temple was built by the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka and dedicated to Hanuman. This temple houses for 16 feel height statue of Hanuman.Afterwards Leave to Nuwara eliya City tour in Nuwara Eliya + visit seetha amman Temple.Nuwara Eliya - The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys,Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night.All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. Seetha Amman Temple. The kidnapping of Sita by Ravana (was King of Lanka) - meant that Ravana had to hide Sita in several locations. The Seetha Amman temple was named after the wife, Sitadevi, of Lord Rama. The structure was built on one of the exact sites where the demon king Ravana held Sita as his captive, in the Ashoka Forests of the region. It is believed that the Lordess used the stream by the temple and meditated by the rocks along the stream. Gayathri peedam It is the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated load Shiva with penance and pooja’s and in turn was granted super natural power by load shiva Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel in Nuwara eliya.

Day 4/6 Day 04: Nuwara Eliya – Ella– Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast ,Visit Asoka Vatika Ashoka watika is the place where Ravana kept the Sita captive. It was the location, where Sita, the wife of Rama was held captive by Ravana, after her abduction, also because she refused to stay in Ravana's palace, and preferred to stay under the Ashoka tree, hence the name.[3] It was here that Ravana's wife Mandodari came to meet her and also where Hanuman met her for the first time, and identified himself with the finger ring of Rama.Sita stayed at Ashokat Vatika, till the end of the epic battle between Rama and Ravana, which resulted in the destruction of Ravana himself and most of this clan. Divurmpola (Approximately 1 Hrs Drive) Divurmpola means a place where one takes an oath.Sitadevi, after being liberated from King Ravana was subjected to a test to prove here chastity by offering herself to the fire. However she came unscathed and proved her holiness during this ritual at this place.Visit Ravana cave and ravana water fall Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel in Nuwar eliya.

Day 5/6 Day 05: Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

After Breakfast leave for Colombo City tour in Colombo + Shopping Colombo - a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens.Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749.Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and Independence Square.Visit Ponnampalawaneshwaram Temple, Kelania Temple.Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Colombo.
