Why Choose an Escorted Holiday to Sweden?
Sweden is a country of quiet extremes. Stockholm, one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe, is built across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea - a city that looks, from any bridge or waterfront, like it was designed by someone determined to make geography unfair to other cities. In the north, Lapland offers Arctic wilderness, reindeer herding Sámi culture and, in winter, the Northern Lights across skies you simply do not see further south.
The variety within Sweden rewards a guided approach. Moving between Stockholm, the Swedish heartland of Dalarna, the medieval city of Visby on the island of Gotland, and the northern wilderness of Lapland requires logistical planning that our escorted itineraries handle efficiently. For British-Indian passengers, Sweden is an appealing Scandinavian destination with excellent vegetarian options, strong sustainability credentials and a national culture that places genuine value on quality of experience over quantity of sightseeing.

Best Time to Visit Sweden
May and June are excellent for Stockholm and central Sweden: long days, pleasant temperatures and the country at its greenest. Midsommar in late June is a genuine cultural event worth experiencing.
July and August bring the warmest weather and the midnight sun in the far north. The archipelago islands around Stockholm are busy with Swedish holidaymakers, creating a lively coastal scene.
September and October offer good conditions across the country, with autumn colour across the forests and less crowding at the main sights.
November to March is Northern Lights season in Lapland. Dog sledding, snowmobiling, the Icehotel near Jukkasjärvi and the extraordinary stillness of Arctic winter are the draws.
Popular Destinations Within Sweden
Stockholm - Gamla Stan (the Old Town), the Vasa Museum (a perfectly preserved 17th-century warship), the archipelago boat tours, the Royal Palace and the ABBA Museum. A city that genuinely rewards several days.
Lapland and Jukkasjärvi - the Swedish Arctic, home to the original Icehotel, Sámi reindeer culture, the Northern Lights and, in summer, the midnight sun. One of the most extraordinary experiences available to any traveller.
Gothenburg - Sweden's second city and its main port, with a more relaxed character than Stockholm, excellent seafood, the Liseberg amusement park and easy access to the west coast archipelago.
The Dalarna Region - the heartland of Swedish folk culture. Lake Siljan, the town of Falun with its UNESCO-listed copper mine, and the traditions (Dala horses, folk music) that define Swedish national identity.
Visby - the medieval walled city on the island of Gotland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with intact 13th-century walls and a well-preserved medieval street plan.
The High Coast - a UNESCO-listed stretch of the north Swedish coastline, with distinctive landscapes shaped by post-glacial rebound and excellent opportunities for kayaking and walking.
