Why Choose an Escorted Holiday Around England?
There is something to be said for discovering your own country properly. Most British residents have never seen the Lake District in autumn, walked the Yorkshire Dales, stood on the cliffs at Land's End or driven through the Cotswolds at their best. Life gets in the way. An escorted tour of England removes the planning burden, puts you on a coach with people who share your interests, and delivers the most rewarding parts of the country in a structured, comfortable and genuinely enjoyable way.
For British-Indian passengers in particular, an England tour is a distinctive proposition. Many of our passengers from Leicester, Birmingham and the Midlands know their local area well but have rarely had the chance to explore the wider country in the way that returning travellers from abroad often do. We treat England with the same depth and quality of guiding that we bring to our international itineraries - because the history, the landscape and the stories deserve it. And the pick-up points work in your favour: no flights, no airports, no jetlag.
Indian-Friendly Features on Our England Tours
- Indian dinners included on most multi-day departures, with consistent availability across England's cities and larger towns
- Vegetarian and Jain options available and confirmed in advance
- No beef or pork compulsory in any included meals
- Midlands, Leicester and London pick-up points for all departures - often the starting point of the tour rather than just a stopping point
- No flights required - comfortable coach travel from your local pick-up point throughout
Best Time to Visit England
April and May are excellent: spring is underway, the countryside is green and the main tourist sites have not yet reached summer capacity. The Cotswolds and Lake District are at their most appealing.
June to August brings the best weather but also the largest crowds at popular sites. Our itineraries are timed to make the most of the summer light while managing the busiest periods sensibly.
September and October are a strong choice for foliage, harvests and a quieter version of the most popular destinations. The Lake District and Peak District in autumn are genuinely spectacular.
December suits the Christmas market circuit - Bath, York, Winchester and Manchester all host excellent markets - and England's cathedral cities take on a particular quality in winter.
Popular Destinations Within England
The Cotswolds - honey-coloured stone villages, market towns and countryside that defines a certain image of England. Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Chipping Campden and Bibury are consistently among the most photographed places in the country.
The Lake District - a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of mountains, lakes and fell walking country. Windermere, Grasmere, Ambleside and the high passes above. Wordsworth country, and justifiably celebrated.
York - one of England's most complete historic cities. The medieval walls, York Minster, the Shambles street and the excellent Yorkshire Museum.
Cornwall and the Southwest - St Ives, Land's End, the Eden Project, the north coast cliffs between Boscastle and Tintagel. A genuinely distinct part of England.
Bath - the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent, the Pump Room and one of the finest examples of Georgian townscape anywhere in Europe. Also excellent shopping.
Stratford-upon-Avon - Shakespeare's birthplace, the Royal Shakespeare Company theatres and a town that wears its literary heritage without embarrassment. Close to many of our Midlands pick-up points.
The Yorkshire Dales and Moors - limestone country in the Dales, dramatic purple heather moorland in the North York Moors, and characterful market towns like Skipton and Hawes throughout.
