Vietnam
Vietnam, located in Southeast Asia, stretches along the eastern edge of the Indochinese Peninsula and is known for its rich culture, diverse landscapes, and welcoming people. From the bustling streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the peaceful rice terraces of Sapa and the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay, Vietnam offers an unforgettable blend of history, nature, and vibrant modern life.
Currency
The national currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). It is not widely available outside Vietnam, so you should exchange money upon arrival. Try to spend or exchange any remaining Dong before leaving the country, as it can be difficult to convert outside Vietnam.
Exchange services are available at major banks and international airports. Prices are sometimes quoted in US dollars due to currency fluctuations, but payments are usually made in Dong. Many visitors keep US dollars for convenience and exchange or withdraw Dong as needed.
Credit cards are accepted at larger hotels and shops, though a small surcharge (around 3%) is common. Cash is generally preferred for small transactions. Please note that USD, GBP, or travellers cheques are not widely accepted at most locations on this tour.
Additional Excursions
Our itineraries are designed to include all key excursions and experiences to ensure you enjoy the best value and highlights of Vietnam. However, your tour representative or local ground operator may offer optional excursions to enhance your trip. These are not included in the main tour cost and can be purchased locally if you wish to participate.
Food
Breakfast is provided daily at the hotels and typically includes tea, coffee, bread, cereals, fruit, and yoghurt, served in a designated dining area. Meals are served as pre-set buffets offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Please note that Jain or Halal meals may not always be available, and a choice of menu is not offered. Meals are served with tap water only.
Dinners are usually provided within the hotel or at nearby restaurants. If you have any dietary restrictions, please consult your tour representative before mealtimes.

Hotels
Not all hotels in Vietnam are equipped with air-conditioning, so we recommend carrying a small portable fan during the warmer months.
Many hotels provide two single beds placed together for double occupancy. This is a common configuration in Vietnam and should be expected on some stays.
Kettles may not be available in all rooms. If you require hot water for warming milk or similar needs, consider bringing a travel kettle or thermos flask. A small travel iron or hairdryer may also be useful, as these are not standard in every hotel.
Any personal expenses such as minibar, phone, or pay-TV charges must be settled directly with the hotel upon checkout. These services are not included in your tour cost.
The maximum occupancy per room on this tour is three persons, excluding infants.
Other Advisories
General
Carry your passport with you at all times in Vietnam, as local authorities may ask for identification.
Clothing
Vietnams climate varies by region, so pack accordingly. Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal for most areas. A light jacket may be useful for cooler northern regions or evening temperatures. Modest attire is recommended when visiting temples or religious sites shoulders and knees should be covered.
Sun cream, hats, and comfortable footwear are essential for sightseeing. Avoid heavy fabrics such as jeans, as they can be uncomfortable in humid conditions.
Pick Up and Drop Off Points & Times
Passengers should arrive at the designated airport at the specified time. If your flights are arranged independently, you will meet the tour representative directly at the arrival terminal in Vietnam.
Please follow airline check-in procedures and review airport information screens for any flight or gate changes.
Visas & Passport
British nationals require a visa to enter Vietnam. For short visits, you can apply for an e-visa online before travelling. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days for single or multiple entries and must be obtained before departure. Ensure that you use the official Vietnamese government website when applying.
All other nationalities should check visa requirements with the relevant Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate.
Weather
Vietnams climate varies significantly by region. In the north (Hanoi and surrounding areas), May to October is hot and humid with frequent rain, while November to April is cooler and dry. In central Vietnam, January to August is hot and dry, while September to November sees heavier rainfall. Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) is generally hot year-round, with a dry season from November to April and a rainy season from May to October.
Wheelchairs
We accept lightweight manual wheelchairs for travel, provided they can be stored in the vehicles luggage hold. A family member must accompany the passenger to assist throughout the tour.
We will request accessible rooms where possible; however, availability cannot be guaranteed. If you require a wheelchair at the airport, please submit your request in writing at the time of booking. The final allocation of wheelchair assistance is at the discretion of the airline or airport.
